POPCORN PREP

What is crossing cutting and when can it be useful?

Cross cutting is a common technique used in lots of films to establish action happening at the same time or a scene that relates to one another. For example, someone could be reading a letter from their child saying that they are running away and it might cut to the scene of the child running. This shows a relation to the characters and the scene that is present.
