02 MUSIC VIDEO

I have watched Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus and made a comic using ComicLife in class. It is about a lowlife high school unpopular boy who just wants the girl of his dreams, Noelle. Noelle is the typical popular girl with blonde hair and designer clothes. She gets everything she wants, including the stereotypical football jock. This includes big muscles, mean, strong and wears a jersey. In the music video the band is singing during the video, they looks noticeably older than the actors playing the characters. 

The music video has and old school feel due to it coming out in 2000 and it definitely is a stereotypical American high school. You can tell it's from around the 2000s because of what the characters are wearing. Nothing looks like modern day and this is made very clear. It sticks to the classic high school story, if it was a modern music video it would look and feel very different to how it was in 2000. 

CULTURAL, SOCIAL AND HISTORICAL CONTEXT

The Cold war. 

From the Observer, I learnt that during the 1960s people were very apprehensive about the Cold War. The Cold War was looming and people were starting to learn more about what this meant for the world. The last War ended in 1945 and people and towns were still recovering from this rough and torturous time. Many countries couldn't afford to have another war and the fear of the Soviet Union grew. Spies were sent over from Russia and Countries soon realised that this was a huge threat. The Cold War was an everlasting worry.
